Product Care

Sterling Silver Care
Store in plastic bags with a piece of chalk.

Removing tarnish:
Put a sheet of aluminum foil in a bowl silver side up.  Add ¼ cup baking soda.  Add your jewelry piece into the bowl, and add hot water to cover.  The water will fizz up for a minute.  Swish your jewelry gently into the water and let it soak for 5 minutes.  If it is very tarnished, add more baking soda and repeat.

Remove your jewelry and rinse thoroughly.  Use a toothbrush and Dawn dish to soak and clean in close areas and chains.  Lay out on a paper towel until dry, a few hours.  Do not store until completely dry

Enamel Jewelry Care
Delicate one-of-a-kind jewelry designed with melted glass enamel is an elegant choice for those wanting to add some color and style to their attire. Italian Murano glass is another art medium to take special care. Most pieces have up to 6 layers of torch or kiln-fired enamel to enhance the design and some may contain millefiori accents.

When the fire takes control each piece develops slight flaws that are part of the hand-made appeal and artistry.

To maintain the appearance of your art piece and prevent damage, follow these care instructions:

  • Avoid Impact: Do not put on or remove your art piece over a tile floor. Enamel can chip or crack upon impact. It is best to remove your art piece over a rug or carpet.
  • Cosmetics and Chemicals: Apply cosmetics, perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays before putting on enamel jewelry to prevent exposure to chemicals that can harm the enamel.
  • Moisture Control: Enamel can be sensitive to moisture. Remove your enamel jewelry before swimming, bathing, or engaging in activities that expose it to water.
  • Clean Gently: Clean enamel jewelry with a soft, damp cloth or a gentle jewelry cleaning solution. Avoid abrasive materials, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners, which can damage the enamel.
  • Storage: Store enamel jewelry in a soft pouch or a jewelry box with padded compartments to prevent scratching or chipping. Keep pieces separated to avoid contact with other jewelry.
  • Inspect Regularly: Periodically inspect your enamel jewelry for any signs of chipping, cracking, or damage.

If you damage your piece, unfortunately, many factors decide whether a piece can be restored to its natural look. In many cases, melting the enamel again can renew your piece looking completely different, yet beautiful.
